Ethereum memakai account model (bukan UTXO): setiap address punya saldo global & storage; transaksi update state global. Dua tipe account: EOA (Externally Owned, private key) dan Contract Account (smart contract).

Account Model Ethereum
  • Saldo global per address (simpler smart contract)
  • State management via nonce (anti double-spend)
  • Storage on-chain (biaya gas per byte)
  • Contract Account = smart contract bytecode
  • Trade-off: privacy rendah (address reuse)
UTXO Bitcoin (komparasi)
  • Set UTXO belum dibelanjakan (privacy lebih baik)
  • Transaksi konsumsi UTXO utuh (change address)
  • Parallelizable (verify banyak tx parallel)
  • Scripting terbatas (non-Turing complete)
  • Trade-off: smart contract terbatas

Gas & EIP-1559: Fee Market Modern

Gas = unit compute. EIP-1559 (aktif Agustus 2021): base fee (dibakar) + priority fee (ke validator). Fee lebih predictable + deflationary saat network busy.

Total fee = gas_used × (base_fee + priority_fee). Base fee dibakar, priority fee ke validator.

The Merge 15 September 2022: Ethereum switch PoW → PoS. Energi turun 99,95%. Validator butuh stake 32 ETH; reward ~3-5% APR. Slashing untuk penyerang.

Stablecoin fiat-backed paling simple dan paling dipakai — tetapi centralized: issuer freeze capability, counterparty risk.

Fiat-backed paling simple dan dipakai: peg via redemption 1:1 dengan USD. Tetapi centralized — issuer bisa freeze address (sanctions).

Crypto-Collateralized: DAI & LUSD

DAI (MakerDAO) mint dengan vault overcollateralized ETH/WBTC/stable. Decentralized, tidak butuh issuer fiat. Peg via overcollateralization + liquidation otomatis.

Collateral ratio DAI ≥ 150%. Contoh: 200 USD ETH mint 100 DAI. Liquidation otomatis jika ratio <150%.

Algorithmic stablecoin menjaga peg via mint-burn mechanism tanpa underlying asset. UST (Terra) collapse Mei 2022 — pelajaran terburuk. Frax fractional-algorithmic masih eksperimen.

UST mechanism: mint 1 UST = burn USD 1 worth LUNA, burn 1 UST = mint USD 1 LUNA. Arbitrase seharusnya jaga peg.
